Attivare Windows Media Player a 64bit

Di default Windows Media Player viene eseguito come un processo a 32bit, infatti, aprendo il Task Manager, il processo wmplayer.exe ha il suffisso *32 che sta per 32bit.
Per utilizzare la versione a 64bit basta eseguire queste due piccole operazioni:
Start –> Esegui –> Scriviamo:
C:\Windows\System32\reg.exe ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\wmplayer.exe" /v Path /t reg_expand_sz /d "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player" /f"
Sembrarà non succedere niente, ora continuiamo:
Start –> Esegui –> Scriviamo:
C:\Windows\System32\unregmp2.exe /SwapTo:64
Per conferma lanciamo un file audio/video associato a WMP e controlliamo sul Task Manager se il servizio è a 32bit (*32) oppure no (nessun suffisso).
